1. Beautiful skin is essential, especially when you’re soon to become a bride. A good skin care regimen, tailored to your specific needs, should be in place at least 3 months prior. Exfoliating at least once a week is a great way to keep your skin free of build up and make your skin glow. Your makeup application should accentuate your positive features while diminishing any negatives.
2. Your hair should be free of any split ends. If you’re growing it out, a monthly trim is the best way to grow healthy shiny hair. This process should start at least 6 months prior. The shape of your style should also be maintained throughout this process. A clear gloss treatment can be applied at home - 1 week to 3 days prior. One of my favorites, Natural Instincts (clear), can be purchased at your local drug store. Color touch up & highlights should also be done 1 week to 3 days prior, providing this is your usual.
3. When having your hair and makeup trial it is best to have this regimen already in place. The day of your trial your skin should be free of any makeup and heavy oily moisturizer. Your hair should be at least 2 days "dirty". If hair is to clean, it’s difficult to hold, especially since longevity is key for your wedding day. This also helps eliminate using too much product.
4. When having your trial its very important to have a picture of your gown. This allows us to collaborate with the look you want to achieve. Pictures of hairstyles and makeup also help in creating your look. If you are wearing jewelry, headpiece, and/or veil - it is very important to have them at this time. Select a top that simulates your gown for the trial, this is a great way to envision how you will look on your wedding day.
